Qingdao University

Established in 1985, Qingdao University is one of the best key provincial research universities located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. Popularly known as one of the best comprehensive universities in Shandong Province, QDU is home to approximately 35,000 full-time undergraduate students, 9,800 graduate students, and 1,600 international students.


The medical degree awarded by Qingdao University is globally recognized by the MCI, WHO, USMLE and many other leading medical councils of the world. Moreover, the university houses a total staff of around 3,900 professionals including full-time teachers, professors, assistant professors, lecturers, and administrating officials.


The university consists of 25 faculties & departments and 35 colleges & schools, besides a medical department. Spread across a total area of 1.77 km², the university has three campuses in different parts of Qingdao, with the main campus located in the east part of Shinan District. Situated on China's Yellow Sea coast, Qingdao is a major city in eastern Shandong Province. The city has the highest GDP of any city in the province and serves as a major seaport and naval base, as well as a commercial and financial centre of China.


The city experiences a temperate, four-season, monsoon-influenced climate with hot and humid summers and cold, windy and dry winters. With an average temperature of 25.4 °C, July is the hottest month whereas January is the coldest month with an average temperature of -0.2 °C.
