Humboldt University of Berlin

Established by Frederick William III in 1810, Humboldt University of Berlin is one of the oldest of Berlin's four public research universities. The university is located in the central borough of Mitte in Berlin. The university functioned from 1810 to 1945 and reopened in 1949 due to the conflicts that took place during the Cold War.

The university's name honours Alexander and Wilhelm von Humboldt and currently houses around 36,500 students including 5,000+ international students.
