Established in 1934, Al Farabi Kazakh National University (KazGU or KazNU) is one of the country's largest government-funded medical universities. The university is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan and ranks 175th in the list of QS Global World University Rankings.
Globally recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), World Health Organization (WHO), United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), and the European Medical Association, KazGU has a strong scientific-educational and methodological base.
Named after the Eastern philosopher and scholar al-Farabi, houses more than 20,000 students, post-graduates and PhD students on its large campus. Moreover, there are over 2500 faculty members including 400 doctors of science, professors and more than 800 candidates of science and associate professors.
