Heidelberg University

Founded in 1386 on the instruction of Pope Urban VI, Heidelberg University is the oldest public research university to study medicine in Germany. The university is located in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg and was the third university established in the Holy Roman Empire. The medical degree awarded by Heidelberg University is globally recognized by the MCI, WHO, USMLE and many other leading medical councils of the world.


The university consists of 12 faculties and offers undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral degree programs in nearly 100 disciplines. The university has three major campuses with the medicine campus located in the Neuenheimer Feld quarter.
