Kyrgyz State Medical Academy

Founded in September 1939, Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) is one of the most reputed and the oldest medical universities in Kyrgyzstan. The university is located in Bishkek and is named after I.K. Akhunbaev.


Known for its highly qualified medical education, the university was opened with the recruitment of 200 students and houses over 15,000 medical students today, including 7,000+ foreign nationals. The university is approved by the MCI, WHO, USMLE, European Medical Association and other leading medical councils of the world.


With more than 540 highly experienced faculty members, KSMA is highly dedicated to meeting the needs of society through quality and continuous training of medical and pharmaceutical personnel based on a highly advanced educational process, research and clinical practice.


The university is a powerful scientific-educational complex with 6 educational buildings, and six fully furnished hostels - three of which are on the main campus and the other three are located within a walking distance.
